If you knew about me, you would know that I had bad memories towards secondary school life. However, I reflected on myself and learnt to become a better person from there. In here, I will be sharing some tips on how I look back and confidently saying that I am someone who is better than who I am in the past.

1) Calm down and think back about the incident
To reflect on yourself, you should first clear your mind, sit down in a room which you are comfortable with and think back about the specific incident. For me, I would like to write down in either a piece of paper/phone's note so you may not miss out any details that you might have a miss. Try to use this time to fully open up to yourself as sometimes human tend to deteriorate our own memories because we want to run away.
2) Look at your actions
Look back at how you react at that time, is it something that you regretted or it could be improved? Was it an action that had hurt someone unintentionally?
3) Evaluate the actions
How does it change if you act in a different way back then? Will the result be either good or bad? Will the result shape you into a better person now?
4) Talk it out to someone you are comfortable with
If you still insist that your actions are right (which is wrong) or you just simply cannot look from another perspective, talking it out to someone you are comfortable with can help. You can start by asking them what they think or what they would do if they are in that kind of situation. Listening to different opinions can improve the way you think as it allows you to look at the problems in a different manner.
5) Keep In Mind
When something similar happens, always think twice before you react. Look at both side of the perspective (both good and bad) so you could act accordingly and not regret after that action is being carried out.
6) Try to think positively
Even if something bad happens, there will be something good in it. Be positive and it will allow you to feel much better than dwelling in it. Of course, easier said than done however no harm giving it a try.
What comes around goes around, if something very bad happens to you, something really nice will be waiting for you. Learning to reflect on oneself can allow one to live life better and happier.
